REV. PAUL MOORE

Rev. Paul Affectionately known in the Philadelphia & surrounding communities as the “Peoples Champ”, Reverend and Community Activist Paul “Earthquake” Moore is an alumni of John Bartram High School and former resident of Paschall Homes. Paul “Earthquake” Moore has been a long time impactful community activist in Philadelphia.  He was a junior welterweight boxer and has appeared in small movie roles in films such as Philadelphia and Beloved.

He is the winner of the Wrice-Campbell Award for Neighborhood Safety and in October 2011 was elected as chair of the Southwest Community Development Corporation (SWCDC) which was founded in 1986 to serve the economic needs of residents and to improve their quality of life.

Rev. Moore serves as an Associate Minister appointed by Pastor Vaughn B. Wilson at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. He serves in many capacities ranging from conducting New Members Class, Baptism, Worship Leader, Teacher, Preacher and more.

Rev. Moore is well known as a community activist that has coordinated events that have gained local and national recognition such as:

Community Claus – Dresses as Santa Claus to collect donations and give presents to families in need.

24 Hour Food-A-Thon – Coordinates a 24 hour food collection outside in Southwest Philadelphia that features entertainment, music and more with the goal to collect Turkeys and side items for families in need to give away for Thanksgiving.

Annual Celebrity Turkey Run & Giveaway – Every year Rev. Moore has an annual run in Philadelphia to help promote and encourage people to give towards turkey baskets to be distributed. After the run, Rev. Moore along with local clergy, police, donators and volunteers gather at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church to give away turkey baskets to be a blessing to families during the holiday season.

Hands Against Violence – Brings the community together by coordinating events such as skating parties, etc. to relay the message to stop the violence in the community.
